Pushing Forward

We all have periods of days, weeks, or months that just seem like they will never end.  It seems like problems keep finding their way to come up and get in our way, and we feel like quitting.

Last week wasn’t horrible, but it was one that just dragged on and I just wanted over with.  This feeling carried on into Saturday morning when I had to wake up and go running with RunGr.  The week had worn me down and I really didn’t want to get up and go run, especially when it was maybe 1 or 2 degrees outside.

We come to these decisions in life where we can chose to go one of two ways: push on or pull over and quit.  I ended up making the decision to climb out of bed and meet my fellow runners, and boy am I glad.  That run actually ended up kick starting this week for me, and I feel sooooo much better.  It wasn’t like I did anything spectacular, but by just getting out of bed and pushing forward, things found a way to work themselves out, and I feel so much better.

When times are tough and everything seems to drag you down to the point where you feel like quitting, I challenge you to stand firm and push on.  It may be easier to roll over and quit (or in my case, stay in bed), but things rarely get better that way.  Keep seeking your goals, and no matter how hard the road gets, never give up because you will succeed.

One of my favorite Bible verse’s: “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you…” Isaiah 41:10

  1. It’s amazing how a good run can change your attitude.
