After my accident – there are a number of things that I am more passionate and more outspoken about – I know – I know – like I was not outspoken before – I get it – keep reading.

The first is my faith – keeping my life centered and living each day with my faith at the front of all that I do – the result is – well – priceless. Another is celebrating how much I love and I am loved.  There are so many people in my life that remind me that I am here more for others than I am myself.

If you going out for a run, bike ride, ski, walk, swim, snow shoe, mountain climbing expedition – well I think you get the point – my question is simple – are you leaving with any form of personal identification with you or are you going out naked? If you have no ID on you – you are essentially leaving those you love and those who love you at risk. The risk is really quite simple – if something happens to you and you are not able to communicate who you are – or how to get in touch with someone who loves you – you are essentially naked.

I can tell you that when I put on my RoadID bracelet before each run – I get emotional. I am still reminded of how far I have recovered – and at the same time how far I have left to go – which then forces me to think about the fact that I will never be the same person I was 10 months ago. But that is ok – why – because I do have this moment and I have this run and I have this time with Kim and the kids – and as my friend Mark would say – I can’t make this up.
