At Conductive Learning Center (CLC), children with motor disorders learn to become confident, active and self-reliant individuals. These children may have cerebral palsy, spina bifida, or other motor challenges that make even the smallest tasks-eating, buttoning a shirt, or sitting in a chair- seem monumental. CLC uses a holistic and intensive approach called conductive education, that combines medical knowledge with educational methods, to help each child gain control over their bodies, allowing them to accomplish tasks that were never thought possible.
These children approach each and every day in the same way that Team CLC will prepare for the Fifth Third River Bank Run; by setting goals, training and strengthening their bodies to be the best they can be. Children are taught to see themselves as active and self-reliant participants in the world. Runners for team CLC will help change the lives of children by fundraising for our “Champion of a Child” scholarship fund to provide opportunities for them to attend CLC.
Team CLC also has many events and perks including: meeting the families and children and seeing how their lives have been transformed, race day access to a private, indoor location with gear-check and private restrooms, a Team CLC t-shirt, a pre-race pasta dinner and celebration, and more!
