The Mental Health Foundation of West Michigan creates communities that have good mental health by inspiring people to recognize, understand, accept and take action. Our vision is to be the go to source for mental health awareness and education. We do this through various educational programs including our be nice. program.
be nice. is more than a phrase. It’s an Action Plan and an acronym to notice, invite, challenge, and empower. If you live by the be nice. Action Plan and implement it into your daily life, you can create a better environment for someone struggling with their mental health and ultimately save a life.
The Fifth Third River Bank Run is a great opportunity to notice someone who is struggling, invite them to join you in your race training, challenge them to set goals and work hard to meet those goals, and empower themselves by stepping out of their comfort zone and finishing the race. Is there a better feeling than crossing that finish line? This race can reflect more than just running. It reflects the courage to take control of their mental health.
When you join team be nice., you are joining a group of people making a difference in our community! By running with us and supporting us, you are helping to drive our vision to be the go to source for mental health awareness and education.
Team be nice. runners and walkers are treated to:
- 1. Complimentary gear to wear on race day
- 2. An exclusive pre-race party on Friday, May 11th
- 3. Unlimited team spirit and satisfaction that you’re helping to save a life!
